Michael has been with Block Real Estate Services, LLC (then Block & Company, Inc Realtors) on a full-time basis since 1979.  While attending high school at Shawnee Mission East, he worked summers in the property management department.  After graduating from the University of Kansas, in 1979, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration he joined the firm. 

He earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1983 and was named to “Who’s Who In Business And America” in 1985 and earned the designation of Certified Real Estate Appraiser by the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers in 1988.

Michael has been involved in over $325,000,000 of sales, leasing and development projects. He has also had numerous personal investments in commercial property and has been actively involved with the hands-on management and construction for hundreds of thousands of square feet of property, much of which he has been the managing general partner of.

He has been a member of the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors (KCRAR) and its Multi-Million Dollar Club for years, and has Lifetime membership in the Missouri Association of Realtors Million Dollar Club.  He has been an active member of the National, state and local associations of Realtors and has also participated in a number of community and civic organizations including the Bacchus Foundation, the Avidus Foundation, the Kansas City Jazz Festival, the Kansas City Chiefs Red Coaters, and the Helzberg Leadership Fellows.  Michael has been involved with the operations of housing subdivisions in Hawthorne Valley and the Highlands of Leawood where he has utilized his experience in real estate and general business. 

Michael resides in Leawood, Kansas with his wife Deborah and sons Zachary, 16 and Jacob, 13.
