Dick Hamill is a Vice President with Block Real Estate Services, LLC (then Block & Company, Inc Realtors).  He has over twenty-seven years of commercial real estate experience.

Dick began his career with Cohen & Company in 1978. In his seven years at Cohen & Company, Hamill was twice selected Salesman of the Year and promoted from sales associate to Senior Vice President.  Dick served as leasing agent for several downtown office buildings, including, City Center Square, 1125 Grand, Thayer Place, Peck’s Plaza, The Scarritt Building and The Gumbel Building.  He also served as marketing agent for several suburban office properties including Metcalf 103 Office Park, Fox Hill Place, College Oaks, 9001 State Line Building, The Renaissance and Executive Hills East. 

After his time with Cohen & Company, Dick joined the Leo Eisenberg Company.  He served as Director of Marketing for City Center Square, a 650,000 square foot high-rise office building in the Central Business District.  As leasing agent, Dick’s persistence and knowledge of the Central Business District boosted City Center Square’s occupancy from 23% to 98% in less than two years.   Dick was also Project Manager for the development and leasing of Regency Park, Sunset Plaza Shopping Center, Rainbow Village Shopping Center and the Metcalf 76 Shopping Center.

Dick then moved on to work for Paragon Group where he was responsible for all commercial leasing and sales for Paragon’s Kansas City office.  During his five years with Paragon Group, Dick successfully leased and sold more than 500,000 square feet of commercial space and served as leasing agent for several office properties.

For the five years prior to joining Block Real Estate Services, LLC, Dick served as Vice President with Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services. He was involved in office and retail leasing and investment sales.  In 1999, Dick’s sales volume was consistently at the top of his profession.  

Dick also has extensive experience in tenant representation of both office and retail companies, such as Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, John Hancock, AT&T, MONY, Hartford Insurance Company, Fleming Companies, Applebee’s, Pizza Hut, Movie Gallery, McDonald’s, The Southland Corporation and Apartment Search.

Dick is a Certified Commercial Investment Member of the National Association of Realtors and a licensed broker in both Missouri and Kansas.  He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree from Fort Hayes State University.

Dick resides in Overland Park, Kansas, with his wife, Becky, and their three sons.
